CEMF & D12

Today I went to the CEMF finals and was supposed to photograph all of the bands but I remembered I already made plans to go see D12, I went to Toronto anyways hoping everything would go smoothly and on schedule, of course it didn’t. Ticketmaster said doors at 5:00pm and Facebook said 6:30pm, I was there for 6:15ish and the parking lot was empty, there was nobody outside waiting, and there weren’t even any hot dog vendors (which is weird because I’m pretty sure they live there) so I drove around a little while and took in the Toronto sights. By  the time I got back there (7:15) were actually people there but no bands were going on, and I learned that I was not actually down on any lists so I couldn’t get in. Long story short, I got in, but the bands still weren’t on and didn’t start playing until 7:30, I shot the first 2 bands and had to leave to come back to Newmarket to see D12 play. I thought I was going to be late so I was kind of rushing but it turns out this show was running late too, doors said 8:00pm I got there at 9:30 and there was nobody there. I bumped into my buddies Adam and Dan so at least I had someone to chill with until they went on. At around 10:30 the place finally started to fill up and the opener went on. After a half hour set the DJ went back on basically playing G-units CD in its entirety until D12 finally decided to hit the stage at around midnight. They played a great set although ‘Bizarre’ didn’t seem all there, for Eminem’s parts they just played a track in the background or skipped right over it. My flash died about 3 shots into the show so I was forced to shoot with my 50mm 1.8 which really didn’t give me the photos I was looking for but I guess it could be worse. Well now that I mention that… it was worse. After the show I made a quick trip to the store and picked up some batteries and went back to hang out with the guys, took some photos, and got some stuff signed. I thought everything was getting better but that’s never how it goes because about 2 minutes before I was leaving my lens (somehow?) got off my camera and on to the floor ruining something inside in the process. Pissed off I went home and as soon as I get home I always upload the photos, tonight on the other hand I couldn’t because I lost the card that contained CEMF, and 90% of the D12 show. Hopefully tomorrow after I take the lens in to be fixed I can clean out my car and find it. Needless to say it was quite a night, here is the only photo that I could save.:(
