Q: What is your photographic style?
A: I cover weddings in a very journalistic style but I don’t think photography should be limited by a “genre”. While I am very hands-off and unobtrusive in my coverage of the day, I do believe that there is a time and place for gorgeous, casually posed images of the bride and groom together. So while I won’t stop you and make you pose while cutting the cake, I would like about an hour (or more!) alone with you both sometime during the day to create some images of you without your wedding party or guests looking on. My images of the guests at the wedding are almost 100% journalistic and I won’t stop entire tables at the reception and make them pose for “table shots”, preferring instead to capture them laughing, smiling, dancing, drinking, and having a great time.
Q: Can you tell me why we should choose you?
A1: Photographs are important to you. You want those from your wedding to be killer.
A2: My images speak to you in a certain way – you appreciate how they appear more alive, more evocative, more fun, more… something. And you want that.
A3: Like me, you’re one of those people who hates your picture taken so you want to hire someone who makes it easy, pleasant, and even fun. But at the same time, you want them invisible most of the day.
A4: You understand that the person you hire is going to be an integral part of your entire wedding experience and you want someone who can actually put you at ease and add to the pleasure of your day.
Q: How many pictures will we get?
A: The number of photographs taken depends on many things – the locations, the weather and even the number of guests. My bare minimum is 600 images, but often it’s much, much higher.
Q: How long does it take to get our products and images?
A: Online galleries and USBs are available within four weeks of the wedding date. Upon final approval of album designs most albums are ready for delivery within eight weeks.
Q: What is the online gallery?
A: The online gallery is a private, password protected section on my website where all of your wedding photographs will be placed online for you and your family and friends to view. It is also a secure shopping cart – which allows you (and your family and friends) to order prints and canvas wraps online. All you have to do is provide the password to anyone who you want to be able to view the images.
Q: What if you die?
A: If I die I can guarantee I will not be at your wedding – which would be rather sad. However, I am a member of many national and local organizations and networking groups which would be called to find you a replacement photographer.
Q: Do you have back up equipment?
A: Of course! As a professional photographer I have extensive backups, and backups of my backups (not kidding).
Q: Can you hold a date for me?
A: I’m sorry, but I can’t hold the date or pencil you in. To be fair to everyone I can’t “hold” a date without a retainer and a signed agreement. I accept bookings on a first come/first served basis.
Q: This FAQ goes on forever. Does it ever end?
A: Eventually. But if you’re still reading you must be really interested in this kind of stuff and that’s why I’ve provided so much information. Just to make people like you 100% comfortable.
Q: Are you a member of any professional organizations?
A: I am. I’m an active member in ISPWP (International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers) and Fearless Photographers.
Q: Is this your real job?
A: Yup.
Q: Are you cool with family and friends taking photos?
A: Of course I am, although I do not allow family or friends to come along for the bridal party images or the images of you two alone because, frankly, other people can be distracting.
Q: Do you travel?
A: Absolutely! Have passport – will travel for weddings anywhere. Please ask for my availability and my International destination wedding services lists.
Q: I’m a photographer, can I shoot a wedding with you?
A: Only if you bring your A game.
